About Us
Helton Dynamics was founded by Forrest Helton. Forrest "The Flying Wire Doctor" grew up in the automotive and motorsports industry. He started his career under the wings of Dusold Designs, where he found his passion for motorsports electronics and wiring. From there, with his electrical and electronics specialty, would go on to work with teams across the United States, including Motorsport Electronics, The Sendy Club, Time Attack champion Feras Qartoumy, and Porsche Cars North America.
Forrest founded Helton Dynamics to offer his services with his unmatched passion and dedication. At Helton Dynamics, we believe in no corners cut and the upmost professionalism when it comes to our work. Project: Longhorn
Project Longhorn is our V10 BMW E46. This is the first build on our Helton Dynamics YouTube channel. This is an episode series that will cover the full details on building this project, showcasing Helton Dynamics at its fullest. We will be competing in Super Lap Battle, SEMA Battle of the Builders Young Guns, and the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.
“What originally started from just a car and a kid with an idea, to passion and asking how far I could actually go. The answer is apparently a lot further than I ever imagined.
The BMW has always been my experiment, maybe even just an expensive passion project. It has ultimately led me to where I am today, but after sitting out for over a year I was ready to come back to create what I've always seen in this car. Project Longhorn will be an episode series documenting the entire rebuild of the car. We are starting from the ground floor, rebuilding the chassis around BMW's legendary S85 V10 engine. Every inch of this car will be torn apart and rebuilt to a new standard, to be competitive while still retaining the ability to be displayed as an art masterpiece. I don't expect everything to be done quick; I don't have a specific deadline to have the car done, and of course I still have work and family to focus on, this is going to take time and lots of trial and error to get perfect, but that's what I am prepared for. Project Longhorn is more than just a car build, it is my history, it is my story, and this is just the beginning.”
